Before I started my freshmen year in college, I made a list with things I wanted do before going. Making this list was my way of letting go of the things I wanted to forget from high school and to start learning how to be the real me. It gave me the chance to learn new things about myself and to experience things I was too chicken to do before.
My list :
1. Pack every high school related things (ie. Pictures, yearbook,etc..) in a box and hide it away.
I did this so I cherish the memories later on in life. Those things will mean a lot more later than they do now.

2. Go somewhere, you've never been to before.
For me, I decided to go to Olive Garden for the first time with my friends. Let's just say it's become our ritual..

3. Hangout with your friends as much as possible.
When you leave for college, you start to lose touch with many people. Especially the one's you always called your bffs, everyone goes down a different path in life.

4. Travel.
Before starting college I'd gone on a road trip with my family. It was a lot of fun. I saw the grand canyon, Las Vegas, and so much more. It's a great experience!

5. Do something that makes you feel good.
I volunteered all the time in high school so I wanted to go out with the last hooray. I volunteered as a camp counselor at my church. I got to teach kids about their religion and work with friends.

6. Do something that you think is disgusting to do.
I learned how to fish and even touched a live one. (It's so gross!)

7.Start and finish a project.
I really wanted to make those no-sew blankets and I made two. This summer I`m planning on making a blanket/quilt out of old cross country and track t-shirts.
8. Spend time with your family as much as possible.
I`m very close with my family and I spend a lot of time with them. So i wanted to spend time with each of them and do memorable things.
9. Learn how to cook something new!
I love cooking! So I wanted to learn something new, I learned how to make french onion soup and a creamy chicken mushroom casserole (It was my first time and possibly my last).
10. Have a movie marathon!!!!
I`m a huge 80`s buff and this was my chance to finally watch most of the classics(again!). I love John Hughes movies so of course The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, and Sixteen Candles were the first ones to be watched. I even watched some I never thought I would like Risky Business and Christine. I totally recommend Christine!
11. Take a self- defense class.
I took kickboxing and its a great workout. I enjoyed it so much I took another kickboxing class during college. This can come in handy at some point and I feel more safer knowing I know how to get out of positions. It will help you.
12. Start a journal.
I started one because I wanted to remember my experiences and to be able to actually read about the things I will go through later on.
13. Have a TV marathon/ catch up on the seasons you`ve missed.
In college you wont have much time for them so show some love to your TV shows.
